Cornerstone Playhouse In Sussex Needs Your Help

Cornerstone Playhouse needs your help. We are in our 44th year of providing live entertainment. Broadway musicals, plays, local musicians and comedians all have been presented here and all to rave reviews. We are an all volunteer 501(c)3 non-profit and NJ State certified charity. All of our income is from ticket sales, donations and small grants. We haven't been able to run a production of any kind since the last show of 'A Christmas Carol, The Musical' back in December. The problem is that we have a building to support, a large historic building. With no income, except for a re-grant from the Sussex County Arts and Heritage Council, for which we are very grateful, in all this time, the bills are piling up. Electricity, gas, water/sewer, internet, phone, state certificates, inspections, building maintenance and copier lease are all overdue. We do not know when the state will allow us to have productions again. It could still be month's away and when we can open, it will likely be to only a small percentage of our capacity of 100 seats. It will be extremely difficult to stay open with reduced capacity. We also need to get all of the supplies and protections needed to open as per CDC guidelines. We refuse to give up though but it is starting to look like it could be the end of Cornerstone. This is why we are asking for your help to keep this community theatre and tri-state destination open. There is no other place in Sussex County that is all welcoming and provides a venue for the so many talented individuals in our area to come and be together and perform, guided by expert directors, choreographers and staff without any cost to them to do so. Please give whatever you can. Once Cornerstone is lost, it will be lost forever. You can help make sure that never happens. Thank you.
